The Active Texan Triathlon is a sprint triathlon in the heart of Bryan/College Station, benefiting First Win — a nonprofit dedicated to empowering children in our community — in honor of John C. Webb Jr., a man who embodied what it means to live actively, lead with faith, and give back.
Whether you’re chasing a personal best or crossing a triathlon finish line for the very first time, this race is for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an experienced triathlete to participate? Not at all. This race welcomes all fitness levels. If you can swim 400 meters, ride a bike, and run (or walk!) a 5K, you’re ready. Many participants are first-timers — and they finish with the biggest smiles.
What is the relay option? In the relay division, you and two teammates each take one leg of the race — one person swims, one bikes, one runs. It’s a fantastic way to experience triathlon as a team and a great entry point for beginners.

This race benefits First Win, a nonprofit focused on supporting and empowering children in the Brazos Valley community — founded in honor of John C. Webb Jr.
John was a pillar of WestWebb Law and the Bryan/College Station community. He led with faith, cared for everyone around him, and believed in giving back. Co-founding First Win was one of his greatest passions. Every registration, every mile, every finish line crossed on October 11 is a tribute to his legacy.

About John C. Webb Jr.
John was a pillar of our firm and the community he loved. He made those around him better, and his relentless spirit motivated every one of us to be the best we can be in every moment. John was a true leader who cared for, and got to know everyone who entered our doors, from the college student runners to the most senior attorneys. John loved his family dearly and taught us the importance of dedicating time to our families, even while endeavoring to pursue excellence in our professions. John relied upon his faith to supply the grace needed to lead ‘a life well-lived.’ One of John’s recent passions was co-founding First Win – a non-profit organization that focuses on supporting and empowering children in our community.
